Erik Patterson is an award-winning playwright, screenwriter, and writing teacher. Recent plays include One of the Nice Ones (Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle Award winner) and Handjob, both at The Echo Theater Company. His work has been produced or developed by Playwrights’ Arena, the Los Angeles Theatre Centre, Theatre of NOTE, the Evidence Room, The Actors’ Gang, The Echo Theater Company, the Lark Play Development Center, Moving Arts, Black Dahlia, Naked Angels, the Mark Taper Forum, and New Group. His plays have been nominated for the Ovation Award, the Stage Raw Award, the LA Weekly Award, and the GLAAD Media Award. Erik has written films for Warner Bros., Universal, 20th Century Fox, Disney, Freeform, MTV, Paramount, Hallmark, and Syfy, among others. Credits include Abandoned (starring Emma Roberts and Michael Shannon), fourteen episodes of R.L. Stine’s The Haunting Hour (two Emmy Award nominations), Another Cinderella Story (winner of the WGA Award), Deep Blue Sea 2, and Radio Rebel (winner of the Humanitas Prize). Erik is the creator of Your Daily Writing Prompt on TikTok and is the author of a series of writing prompt books for Simon & Schuster, including Write a Romantasy and Write a Dystopian Novel, available in bookstores nationwide. Erik is a graduate of Occidental College and the British American Drama Academy.

Michael Sturgis (Young Man/RU) returns to the Echo after his performance in Clarkston, which earned him a Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle nomination. Also with Echo: Crabs in a Bucket, Poor Clare (LADCC Award), Gloria, and Blueberry Toast. Other stages include Theatre of NOTE, Classical Theatre Lab, A Noise Within, IAMA, and Harold Night at Upright Citizens Brigade. On TV he starred opposite Mark Duplass on Room 104 (HBO), and with Mayim Bialik on Call Me Kat (Hulu). His short film Every Other Week is a Vimeo Staff Pick.
James Tupper (Mick) trained under Maggie Flanagan and William Esper in New York City. He has starred in such shows as Big Little Lies as Nathan on HBO, on Revenge as David Clarke, on Men in Trees as Jack Slattery on ABC, as Dr Perkins on Grey’s Anatomy among many more films and tv shows. James has done about fifty plays in his life and considers every one of those a joy. The proudest full time job he has ever had however is being a Dad to Atlas and Homer.
Sean Luc Rogers (Dylan) is excited to make his return to the Echo Theater stage! After an award-winning debut in Sam Hunter’s Clarkston, Sean has gone on to star in the U.S premiere of Glory Ride with the Delaware Theater Company, and Between Us and the River, his first SAG feature film, earlier this year. The Echo is a special place and remains a core pillar of the LA theater scene. Sean couldn’t be more thrilled to share its stage once again with such talented performers! He’d like to thank his mother and sister, Lisa and Colette Rogers.
